Q: Can I speak to someone or place my credit card order over the phone?

A: Yes. You can call 0116 2708400 and somebody in the office will gladly take your call.

Q: How do I create a new account?

A: To create a new bookstore account, follow these instructions:

  • Click on the "Create a new account" link on the left-hand side. (If you do not see this link, click here to go to that page.)
  • On the registration form, fill out all fields that are required. Please note: You can select any membership login and password that you would like. To verify that you have typed in the password that you wanted, retype it in the "verify password" field.
  • Submit the form by clicking on the "Submit" button.
  • Once you are registered, you will not have to re-enter this information on future visits. If you have cookies enabled on your computer, the online bookstore will automatically remember you on future visits. If not, you can re-enter your username and password on a return visit.

Q: Why won't my username and password work?

A: If you enter your username and password in the login page and you get an error that your account was not found or unavailable, try the following steps to resolve the problem:

  • We moved our online bookstore to new systems in the beginning of 2009. If you have not shopped at our bookstore since that date, you will have to create a new account. Click here to create a new account.
  • Check to make sure your "Caps Lock" key is not on. Passwords are case-sensitive, meaning that "password" is different from "PASSWORD."
  • If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new password. The new password will be randomly generated and e-mailed to the e-mail address you specified when you registered. Click here to create a new password for your account.

Q: Is the online bookstore secure?

A: Yes! When you go to check out, before you submit your credit card information, you will be automatically directed to a secure site. All data you send, including credit card information, will be encrypted before it is sent. You will know when you are in a secure area because the URL (the web address) will start with https:// instead of the usual http://. Many browsers also display a secure icon, such as a locked padlock image.

Q: Do I need to have "Cookies" enabled to use the online bookstore? What are "Cookies?"

A: To use all the features of the online bookstore, you will need to have cookies functioning on your computer. Cookies are small text files, stored on your computer to identify your computer to our bookstore. They are incapable of executing any malicious code (such as viruses), and they cannot read any personal information from your computer.

Q: I am automatically directed to this bookstore, but I need to shop at a different country. How do I change my preference?

A: The first time you come to AnswersBookstore, you are required to select at which bookstore you wish to shop. You can also elect to have your computer remember this selection. If you need to reset your preferences, click here.
